Pakistan footwear exports fall

In March 2012 Pakistani manufacturers achieved export revenues of $6.3 million for leather footwear. This represents a fall of 50.4% compared to February 2012.
Total leather sector exports for the first nine months of the current financial year (July 2011 – March 2012) were 3.2% down compared to the same months in the previous financial year.
Pakistan exported 8.8 million pairs of shoes in the first three quarters of this financial year, compared to 9.1 million for the same months a year ago, a decline of 3.3%.
