Footwear brand celebrates 25 years

Northampton-based high-end men’s footwear brand Jeffery West is celebrating its silver jubilee in 2012.

Childhood friends Mark Jeffery and Guy West founded the company in 1987 and have built a brand that has proved popular with finance high-fliers in the City of London City as well as with  Hollywood legends. In 2011, Mickey Rourke wore Jeffery West shoes to plant his footprint at the famous film stars’ memorial in the forecourt of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. The shoes he placed in the mould will now go into the Hollywood Museum, cementing Jeffery West’s place in the history books, the company said at the time.

The two founders started out by customising and reviving factory rejects and end-of-line shoes to sell at a local market. The company still manufactures most of its footwear in England and are still committed, in the words of Guy West, to creating “something different, something fun, and something unique, all whilst retaining the core element of extremely high-quality design and manufacture of the footwear”.

As well as a store in their home town of Northampton, two in central London, one in Manchester and one in Leeds, there is now also a Jeffery West store in Taipei.
