GBB puts Outlast in shoes for children

French footwear brand GBB has chosen to put climate-regulating from outlast into 40 of its children’s shoe styles for autumn-winter 2012-2013.

Outlast uses phase change materials to make its climate-regulating products and GBB has decided that the technology can help it offer greater comfort to the girls and boys who wear its children’s shoes.

“Now our shoes will not only be fashionable, but also high-tech offering the best comfort possible,” said the footwear brand’s commercial and marketing manager, Roger-Pierre Lancelot.

For its part, Outlast said that children often experience “unpleasant temperature changes” during the day depending on whether they are active or resting, outside or inside. “Little feet can overheat and chill easily,” the technology provider said. “Outlast materials inside the GBB shoes help by absorbing excess body heat, storing it and releasing it when needed. When you manage temperature, you also manage heat and moisture so you can feel just right.”
