International event for the footwear industry, Micam, is taking place in Milan from 4-7 March, 2012. The event, organised by the Italian Association of Footwear Manufacturers (ANCI), presents collections for the autumn-winter 2012/13 of 1,560 exhibitors, 609 of which are from outside Italy.

“Micam ShoEvent is the ideal occasion to send a clear signal to the whole sector,” said Cleto Sagripanti, chairman of ANCI. “Thanks to our ongoing commitment, the event has once again confirmed its central role for the international footwear market, a result that is neither simple nor taken for granted at a time of general uncertainty, and which is a source of great pride for us and spurs us on to keep working. For this edition we have looked for new ways to further strengthen this extraordinary showcase of Italian-made goods exported around the world, by augmenting the event’s international orientation and involving important brands with a high fashion content.”

Brands such as Liu-Jo, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Esprit are appearing at Micam for the first time, alongside the return of prestigious brands including Roberto Botticelli and Silvano Lattanzi.
