Women still willing to spend on luxury

28/02/2012
Results from London-based upmarket shoe and clothing brand LK Bennett have prompted commentators to conclude that professional women in Europe and the US are still willing to spend money on luxury footwear and accessories.

In its annual returns for the year ending July 30 2011, LK Bennett has recorded sales of £81.7 million, a 15.6% increase on the previous year. Its profit on this figure was £54.6 million and an increase in its gross margin of 66.8%.

LK Bennett attributed the rise in profits to an increase in the sales-mix of shoes and
leathergoods.

The company currently has 147 stores in the UK, the rest of Europe and the US.
