Indian industry body Assocham (India’s Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry) has published a new study in which it predicts that the value of the country’s domestic footwear market will increase by 75% by 2015.

The report put the current value of the Indian footwear market at $ 4.5 billion, but said it will reach $7.8 billion by 2015 thanks to rising income levels and an increase in fashion consciousness among Indian consumers.
