Tunisia reports 8% increase in footwear and leather exports

Tunisia’s National Leather and Footwear Centre has reported that the country’s total value of leather and footwear exports for the last 11 months stood at $637.1 million, compared with $587.8 million during the same period of 2010, representing an 8% increase,

Several sectors posted increases in exports, including those of leathergoods (45%), leather clothing (77%) and leather industry (33%) and those of accessories and components (19%).

Imports recorded a 7.3% growth during the last 11 months, compared with the same period in 2010, reaching $410.1 million.
