Vietnam: footwear exports to reach $6.2b in 2011
Vietnam’s Leather and Footwear Association has reported that footwear exports in the first 11 months of the year reached $5.7 billion and are expected to reach $6.2 billion in 2011.
Footwear exports earned $5.11 billion in the first 10 months of 2011, up 25.8% year-on-year, ranking footwear at third place in terms of export turnover after garments and crude oil.
The Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association forecasts that growth in this sector will be slower in 2012 than in 2011, and has predicted an increase of 12%.
