Footwear firm invents 'newspaper leather'

Spanish footwear brand Pretty Ballerinas claims to have come up with a type of nappa leather that “imitates the pages of a newspaper”.

According to the company, the idea behind using a special nappa with newsprint laminates is a tribute to the press and to journalists. Pretty Ballerinas has used the newspaper leather in its Rosario shoe, part of its autumn-winter 2011–2012 collection.
