Valentino voted sexiest shoe
A leather and lace shoe by Italian footwear designer Valentino has been declared the “sexiest shoe of the year”. In a poll conducted by New York based FN (Footwear News) and department store Saks Fifth Avenue, about 35,000 voters declared the Valentino shoe the sexiest of all.
As winner of the “Sexy Shoes” contest, the $695 marks a turn toward sophisticated femininity. Last year’s winner was a glitzy, multicolored Swarovski crystal-covered slingback by Christian Louboutin.
Voters apparently believe this year’s winning shoe is sophisticated and feminine. The combination of leather and lace creates a tension.
The 25 finalists, chosen by staff at FN, included shoes by Manolo Blahnik, Louboutin, Dior, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta and Stuart Weitzman.
