Kun Agüero signs Puma boot deal

15/09/2011
Reports suggest sportswear brand Puma has signed a long-term sponsorship deal with Argentina national team striker Sergio (Kun) Agüero, who recently changed clubs, moving from Atlético Madrid in Spain to big-spending English side Manchester City.

The deal should make Kun Agüero a central figure in Puma’s forthcoming marketing campaigns.

Argentina’s national team wears kit from rival brand adidas at the moment, while Manchester City players wear shirts and shorts from Reebok, also part of the adidas group. However, under the new deal Kun Agüero will wear Puma boots, starting with the Speed 1.11 model.

This represents a change; the player previously wore Nike boots.
