Footwear brand Converse has announced the adoption of Invista’s Cordura fabric in the newest design of its All-Star Chuck Taylor line in Japan. The collection features the 1000 denier Classic and 1680 denier Ballistic Cordura fabrics. The shoe is available in camouflage or ballistic black styling.

“We can all remember the old-school Chucks from back in the day starting on the basketball court and making their way into pop-culture fashion,” says Cindy McNaull, global Cordura brand and marketing director. “Now you can get a pair that has the durability to help the shoes last for future generations, and styles, to come.”

Teppei Sasao, head designer of Converse Footwear in Japan, commented: “Cordura fabric has always been known for its durability. Now as a key ingredient in our shoe we can provide modern style and durability against wear and tear thanks to the fabric’s reputation.”
