Anta to invest in Shangqiu

Chinese footwear brand Anta has announced a new deal with the authorities in Shangqiu, a city of 7.5 million people in the inland province of Henan, to invest in a new leather footwear production facility there.

Reports from China have suggested Anta will invest 1 billion RMB (more than $150 million) in Shangqiu, which is regarded as a strategic location because it links several railway lines. This would make it easier for Anta to bring in supplies of leather and transport finished footwear to its network of more than 7,500 retail stores in different parts of the country.
