Vietnam: footwear exports to EU worth $940m
According to Vietnam’s Industry and Trade Ministry, the country earned nearly $7.4 billion from exports to the EU in the first half of the year, a 49% increase over the same period last year, making up 17.5% of the country’s total export value.
Of these exports, footwear exports to the EU earned Vietnam $940 million in the first five months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 16.%,or 40% of the country’s total export turnover from this product category.
The country aims to have an export value of $12.3 billion from the EU by the end of 2011.
