Santoni makes leather straps for watch brand
Swiss watch-maker IWC Schaffhausen and Italian luxury leather shoe manufacturer Santoni have teamed up, with Santoni hand-crafting leather straps for watches.
“The values we share with Santoni form an ideal basis for working in partnership,” said Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen. “We are particularly pleased that the extravagant Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days from IWC is firmly held by these high-quality leather straps from Santoni.”
Giuseppe Santoni shares, who represents the second generation to manage the Italian footwear company, said: “IWC Schaffhausen has proved an ideal partner for us, sharing our philosophy of excellence, perfection such as meticulous attention to detail, and our love of craftsman ship and beauty.”
All variants of the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days are held by Santoni straps made exclusively for IWC Schaffhausen. They are available in two different shades of brown, as well as in black. Santoni processes the leather to have an exclusive patina before it leaves the factory. In addition to this dyeing process, the straps are also recognisable from the orange-coloured leather lining.
