Vietnam: leather sector exports up 32% in value

Vietnam’s exports across all sectors for the January-July 2011 period have an estimated value of $51.5 billion. Of this total, leather footwear and leathergoods exports had a share of more than $4.3 billion, growth of 32.4% compared to the first seven months of last year. The figures come from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.

Leather footwear exports had a value of $3.6 billion for January-July 2011 compared to $ 2.75 billion for the same period in 2010.

Leathergoods exports had a value of $729 million for the seven-month period in 2011, compared to $535 million for the same period last year.
