China: footwear production in Jinjiang hits $4.3 billion

According to the China Leather Industry Association, figures released by the Jinjiang Statistics Bureau show that the production value in six traditional industries in the Fujian Province-based city amounted to $11.5 billion in the first half this year, marking a year on year growth of 29.1%.



Production value in footwear production gained 36% to $4.3 billion, meanwhile value for the textile and apparel sector posted a growth of 26.6% compared with the same period previous year.



The higher growth in production value was also seen in the sectors of equipment manufacturing, aviation parts and electronic photovoltaic energy.
