Bureau Veritas appoints new leather and footwear consultant

Conformity assessment and certification services group Bureau Veritas has appointed Jack Brown as its global footwear technical consultant. Mr Brown brings more than 30 years of leather and footwear expertise to the group.

In his new role, Mr Brown, who has previously worked for Clarks, Peter Black, Scholl Footwear and Intertek, will work with retailers, brands, importers and manufacturers to improve their footwear quality, meet growing legislative requirements, train staff on a wide variety of footwear issues and generally support companies in all aspects of the footwear supply chain. He will also deliver a series of seminars on various footwear topics: the first sessions, ‘Basic Shoemaking’, will take place in September in London and Warrington.
