The next edition of Micam, Milan’s twice-yearly mid-to-high end fashion footwear exhibition, will take place from September 18–21. Exhibitors at the event will showcase their collections for spring-summer 2012.

Around 1,600 exhibitors will attend and the organisers are hoping that recent growth in visitor numbers will continue. Almost 39,000 visitors attended the last edition in March, and increase of 6% on September 2010.

In the build-up to the September 2011 event, newly elected president of the Italian National Footwear Association, Cleto Sagripanti, said: “In the light of the excellent feedback from the last edition, we are aiming to increase involvement with the city that plays host to the event beyond the confines of the fair itself. What we want most is to arouse the interest of the public at large and young talents in this sector, which is vitally important for Italian industry.”
