Vietnam: footwear exports hit record high
In the first half of this year, Vietnam’s footwear export turnover reached nearly $3 billion, up 31% over the same period last year.
In June alone, export earnings hit a six-month record high of more than $610 million. This was the first month since early 2011 footwear exports have surpassed the $600 million mark for each month.
According to the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association, businesses have received orders until the end of the third quarter and signed a number of contracts for the fourth quarter.
The number of export orders for this year has risen 20% over last year due to a sharp increase in bulk orders from importers.
