Haglöfs wears sandals to OutDoor 2011
Swedish outdoor apparel and footwear brand Haglöfs has confirmed its attendance at the OutDoor trade fair 2011 in Friedrichshafen, Germany (14-17 July). Its range of clothing, footwear and hardware will all be on show at the event. One of the highlights will be the launch of the brand’s series of outdoor sandals. Haglöfs claims the sandals are the first to feature the unique orthopaedic ‘Sole’ footbed and have been made from recycled materials.
After two years of development, Haglöfs is ready to unveil the Röse, Kobbe and Sele; three different outdoor sandals. Haglöfs is the only outdoor company to have mouldable footbeds from Sole as standard in all its footwear. All three models feature an anatomically designed and integrated footbed based on Sole footbed technology, the company claims.
The combination of a deep heel cup, an anatomically correctly designed arch section and support for the front arch of the foot stabilises the entire foot and creates direct contact with the terrain.
The sandals also represent the launch of Haglöfs’ own outsole, Watagrip. The sole’s tread compound and construction give the same good grip on flat, wet surfaces or rocky and muddy mountain trails, Haglöfs says.
The webbing of the sandals is made of 100% recycled polyester. The footbed and midsole also have 15% cork which has been added in order to reduce the proportion of petroleum-based materials.
Haglöfs has during the past three years experienced a growth of nearly 50%. After three years of consolidation, the company is now ready to globalise its brand by opening new markets and the first step will be to introduce the brand in Asia.
