Woodland shoes are eco friendly

Canada-based apparel and footwear brand Woodland has launched a series of biodegradable shoes and sandals, which it claims have been made out of materials free of harmful substances.

The outer sole and heel is made of crepe rubber and the upper and lining are made of vegetable tanned leather. The insole, toe puffs and counters are made of cellulose. The insock/footbed are made of latex foam and covered by vegetable tanned leather. Water based rubber adhesive has been used for fabrication and the upper has been stitched to the insole and the sole. The thread and the laces are made of cotton.

“Woodland is committed to producing quality eco-friendly products, made with materials and chemicals that don't harm nature; by making the manufacturing process less harmful to the environment; and by communicating and promoting the brand on the same lines,” a statement from the company says.
