Do-it-yourself sandals in Liverpool boutique

16/06/2011
A popular footwear boutique in Liverpool is running a series of workshops to help customers learn to make sandals and customise shoes. The events will take place at the store, Nook and Willow in Seel Street, and will run from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, June 18; Wednesday, June 22 and Saturday, July 2.

Clare Wilson, one of the company’s two founders, told a local newspaper: “Everyone knows that Liverpool girls loves their shoes; we’re shoe mad here, so this idea is one we thought would really appeal. There are a couple of companies in London offering the same thing but nothing local.”

Participants will each pay £60 and will be able to work with a series of Nook and Willow patterns to make a pair of sandals for themselves from scratch.
