Pakistan government plans leather hub in shoe town

“Charsadda is famous for shoemaking and a large number of local artisans are associated with a leather industry that needs to be encouraged on modern lines to take full advantage of their potential,” an official of the Industry Department said.
He said interest-free loans would be given to shoemakers to help them set up modern leather processing units, and that common facility centres would be set up in Charsadda to give education and technical training to artisans to promote the leather industry.
