Chongqing launches its own footwear design competition

Further signs of the development of the footwear manufacturing industry in China’s interior have come from the launch of a design competition in Bishan County, part of the Chongqing municipality.

Organisers, including the Chongqing government, have said the idea behind the competition is to encourage local designers to create original shoe ideas in the hope that local footwear design talent will emerge and enhance the competitiveness of local footwear sector.

A prize of more than $3,000 is available for the winner.
