UITIC launches search for 2012 congress host

The International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) will hold its next congress in 2012, but the organisation is still looking for a venue and has invited interested cities to apply to host the event.

The congress last took place in October 2010 in León, Mexico, and brought together more than 600 delegates to discuss the latest innovations in footwear.

Any country member of UITIC can apply to host the 2012 congress. Candidates interested in hosting the event must send an email to uitic@uitic.org, before July 14 2011 to say why they believe they should be chosen, specifying which location they will use and which industry association will take responsibility for the organisation, including finance.

The UITIC executive committee will examine the applications, vote and take a decision by the end of August to decide the country and city that will host the 2012 congress.
