Jinjiang shoe exports increase
In the first five months the footwear exports for Jinjiang city in Fujian province, China, have increased by 26.2% with a value of $830 million, according to the latest statistics released by Jinjiang Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine.
The bureau said the shoes exports in the first half of 2011 are from orders received in the second half of last year, but warned that business for the next half is not optimistic, saying that an increase in production costs’ may have a negative impact on the shoes export.
The bureau urged shoemakers to upgrade technologies and change the pattern of production from low-priced products to high added value, so as to avoid the competition by cutting price.
