26/05/2011
Footwear manufacturers in the Mexican state of Guanajuato exported 3.1 million pairs of shoes in the first quarter of 2011. These exports brought in revenue of almost $50 million, an increase of 19% on the same three months in 2010.

State governor, Juan Manuel Oliva, announced the figures at the official opening of the Anpic exhibition in León on May 25. He said: "These successful results are the fruit of the commitment local footwear companies have show to international quality standards."
