Aprisindo secretary-general Binsar Marpaung said that Indonesia booked $2.5 billion in footwear exports in 2010.
“This year, we are confident that we can make it to $3 billion,” he said.
Mr Marpaung said the international market was still promising for Indonesia’s footwear industries, not to mention demand from home.
“Keep in mind that we have a huge population. If everyone buys two pairs of shoes twice a year, then we should produce loads of shoes,” he said.
