Inditex aiming for a million pairs from León shoe partners

07/04/2011
Ten footwear factories in León, Guanajuato in Mexico are made more than 600,000 pairs of shoes for Spanish fashion retail giant Inditex last year and are confident the 2011 total can exceed one million pairs.

Inditex's repersentative in Mexico, Héctor Vera, has told media there that growth is coming from an expansion by these manufacturing partners into making children's, women's and sports shoes, as well as men's footwear on behalf of the company, parent group of a number of fashion chains, including Zara.

He said: "We are improving our relationships [with the footwear manufacturers]. Our partners are adapting well to the company's quality standards and we are on the right road. We are aiming to build long-term relationships here."
