Huntsman to expand polyurethanes division in India

Huntsman Corporation has announced that its polyurethanes division will expand production capabilities in India. Over the next year, the company will invest $10 million in a new facility in Pune, scheduled to be operational by the end of the first quarter of 2012.

This new site will replace the facility Huntsman already has in place in Thane. It said its Thane factory had served it well, but has limited scope for expansion and occupies land that is due to transfer back to its owner shortly.

Huntsman said demand for its methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) products is rising across India's manufacturing sector, and that established and emerging markets for MDI include footwear technologies.
