Reports from Spain suggest that German sports footwear brand Pelé Sports is aiming for considerable growth in that market in 2011 and has not ruled out the possibility of opening own-brand stores there.

Pelé Sports’s autumn-winter 2010–11 collection was the first to reach Spanish shops, with around 30 retail outlets taking stock of products such as the 1970 FG MS kangaroo leather football boots. A Barcelona-based distributor, Footez, has signed up to distribute the footwear in Spain, Portugal and Andorra.

Pelé Sports, named of course after one of the greatest footballers ever, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, also has a presence in Ireland, the UK, Australia, the US, Switzerland and Pelé’s home country, Brazil, as well as in Germany. The company was founded in 2009.
