New stores and exciting shoes work well for UK brand

High-end UK footwear brand Oliver Sweeney has reported that its sales soared over the Christmas period with like for like sales up by 77% compared to the same period in 2009. The company attributed the increase to “exciting product range innovation”, retail expansion and increased marketing activity.

The brand opened two new stores last year: a 53 square-metre store in the luxury Spinningfields development in Manchester, and its first pop-up store in Cheapside, London.

“We are very excited by the successful opening of our Manchester and Cheapside stores and are looking forward to further expansion from a product and retail perspective in 2011,” said Maurice Helfgott, the company’s chairman.
