Danish brand Ecco has confirmed that staff players Iben Tinning and Thongchai Jaidee received titles at the Ladies European Tour’s Omega Dubai Ladies Masters and Asian Tour’s Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open (both 11–12 December), respectively.

Competing in her final tournament on the LET, Ms Tinning wore Ecco’s BIOM Golf model en-route to a two-stroke victory that marked her sixth tour title. A shoe that Ecco says follows the foot’s natural system for absorbing impact, BIOM Golf enhances stability while strengthening muscles in the feet and lower legs. According to Ecco, it brings men and women closer to the playing surface, improving ground feel during all phases of the swing.

“It is going through my head now but I still can't believe I won and it's just amazing,” said the 36-year-old Ms Tinning, who is retiring to spend more time with her family. “I really tried to keep strong out there and it was tough sometimes but I cannot believe this.”

Playing in the Comfort Classic model, Mr Jaidee shot a final-round 65 to finish at 21-under par and claim an unprecedented 13th Asian Tour crown.

“Iben is arguably the greatest Danish woman golfer of all time, and it’s tremendously fitting that she goes out on top,” said Jesper Thuen, sponsor and event manager, Ecco Golf. “Her victory in BIOM Golf and Thongchai becoming Asia’s career wins leader only add to the incredible season that Ecco has had around the world – both in competition and at retail.”

In addition to Ms Tinning and Mr Jaidee, Ecco golf shoes are worn by many international Tour stars, including Fred Couples, Thomas Bjorn, Stuart Appleby, Aaron Baddeley, Bradley Dredge and Jennifer Johnson.
