Brazilian shoemakers visit Taiwan

11/11/2010
A group of 14 major Brazilian footwear brands visited Taiwan at the start of November to source footwear manufacturing machinery and finished shoes made by Taiwanese-owned outsource manufacturers.

A series of meetings with 29 Taiwanese companies led to deals worth $4.45 million.

One of the machinery providers, Jugang Machinery, said afterwards that the exercise had allowed it to build closer ties to the Brazilian footwear industry and that it was hopeful of expanding its presence in the Brazilian market.
