Spanish presence at Obuv Mir Kozhi

With the support of Spain’s export promotions agency, ICEX, five footwear firms from Elche, four from nearby Elda and one each from Baleares and La Rioja made the journey east.
Last year, Spanish manufacturers exported more than 700,000 pairs of shoes to Russia, aimed mostly at the higher end of the market there. Export revenues from these shipments were €21.5 million.
Exports for 2010 so far, however, have shown a 16.5% decline in volume and a drop of 14% in value.
