Li Ning launches running shoe in the US

Senior members of the company's US team, based in Portland, have told media there that Li Ning is taking a cautious and "targeted" approach to its entry into the athletic footwear market there.
The Fremont, named for a well known bridge in Portland, was designed in the US and has gone on sale for $85 per pair in the company's own store in the city and at a select number of partner retailers across the Pacific North West region.
Li Ning has described the design as minimalist, with each shoe weighing around 200 grammes compared to the 425 grammes running shoes often weigh. At the same time, the sole is only nine millimetres thick, as opposed to the more usual 12.
