New president for UITIC

The International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) elected Yves Morin, chief executive of French testing and research agency CTC, as its new president at the end of the seventeenth UITIC Congress, held in León, Mexico, at the start of October. He replaces Dr César Orgilés in the role.

Mr Morin joined CTC in 1997, first as general secretary then as deputy chief executive responsible for commercial and international operations and development.

UITIC said the congress in León had been a success, attracting almost 600 delegates from 15 different countries. There were 17 presentations from speakers representing 10 different countries.
