Oscar De La Renta to launch shoe collection
Fashion designer Oscar de la Renta is to establish his first own-branded footwear collection.
Annelie Hofstrom has been named as the executive vice-president for the range. She joins the team from Manolo Blahnik, where she served for 13 years. Alexia Aubert has been appointed director of design. She has held senior roles at Pierre Hardy and Christian Louboutin.
Dominican Republic-born de la Renta has been designing clothing and accessories since he was 18 years old. He studied fashion and design in Spain and France and has some experience in shoemaking, having designed shoes for Elizabeth Arden back in the 1960s.
