Footwear exhibition wins award for Northampton

The award recognised the positive work of the museum in helping young people in the city create a popular exhibit, to which they gave the name Strut! A team of young people worked with the museum in researching the subject and planning every part of the exhibition.
Local politician Paul Varnsverry commented: “Our Museums team are justifiably proud of this award. ‘Strut!’ was a showcase for creative talent and formed part of our ongoing work to support young people and help them learn about and celebrate our town’s shoemaking history.”
