The regional government of La Rioja has congratulated the footwear manufacturing town of Arnedo for making good news of a grant of EUR 4 million, which it received as part of Plan E, a stimulus plan set up in 2009 by Spain’s central government.

La Rioja’s government, which was responsible for allocating the money to Arnedo from central funds, said: “Arnedo has used the Plan E money in the right way, to create jobs and attend to the real needs of the town.”

The authorities in Arnedo said the money had helped create 132 new jobs among footwear producers in the town, while also helping to improve the town’s waste management infrastructure.
