The group achieved profits of $36.7 million on sales of $841.3 million, figures that represent an increase on the same period last year of 4.4% and 5% respectively. This was driven mainly by sales growth of 26.9% in its Performance and Lifestyle Group.

On announcing the figures, chief executive, Matthew E. Rubel, said: "We anticipate continued strength in wholesale and international; and we are focused on fixing Payless controllables related to trend-right offerings, use of brands, and our breadth of assortment."
