Usain Bolt sticks with Puma
Three-time Olympic gold medal-winning sprinter Usain Bolt has renewed his contract with sports shoe and apparel brand Puma.
The value of the new contract is officially undisclosed but Pumas has said it is the largest sponsorship contract a track-and-field star has ever received and puts the sprinter "among the top earners across all sports".
The contract runs until 2013.
Puma will continue to be Usain Bolt's official supplier of performance, training, lifestyle apparel and footwear and the athlete will play "a pivotal role" in Puma's global marketing campaigns in the years ahead.
The sports company's chief executive, Jochen Zeitz, commented on announcing the new deal: "From a performance standpoint, Usain Bolt has reset the bar for speed on the track, and we're not sure he's even hit his top gear yet. It's going to be an exciting few years ahead and we're thrilled to be along for the ride."
For his part, the sprinter said: "Puma gets me; we fit together."
