Asics buys out Canadian distributor
Athletic shoe and clothing brand Asics has announced that it is to acquire Agence Quebec Plus (AQP), a Canadian distributor of its products.
The Quebec-based company will become a subsidiary of Asics America, with its chief executive, Denis Custau, remaining in post. The internal structure will remain in place and the sales force will continue to be independent contractors.
“AQP has had a long history of distributing Asics in Canada and it’s only logical that Asics America purchases them,” said Rich Bourne, president of Asics America. “The goal is to continue to successfully run and operate the Canadian business as has been done for the last 30 years.”
AQP’s annual sales are $48 million.
