US university chooses adidas over rivals
The University of Wisconsin-Madison has renewed its lucrative contract with sports brand adidas, signing a new five-year deal worth around $11 million in total.
Under the deal, adidas will continue to supply the university’s 23 athletic teams with footwear, apparel and equipment.
The university has agreed not to license or sell any products made by competitor brands including Nike, Under Armour, Puma and New Balance.
Adidas has been involved as a supplier of sports apparel and footwear to the University of Wisconsin-Madison since taking over in 2001 from Reebok, now part of the adidas group.
