MBT uses new data management software

Specialist sports footwear brand Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) has invested in software from Italian technology provider TXT e-solutions to help it improve its product development processes. The company has chosen to use TXT’s Product Data Management & Intelligence (PDMi) application.
MBT's patented sole construction simulates walking barefoot on soft and uneven ground, therefore activating a range of small supporting muscles. The company claims its shoes help exercise the entire musculoskeletal system, relieve joint and back pain, tone the body and stimulate the metabolism.
To keep up with double-digit growth and international expansion, the manufacturer is increasing the breadth and depth of its product range. A new level of complexity has therefore arisen in managing product development, which has led MBT to turn to the PDMi solution.
PDMi will act as the company’s central repository to store all of the product design and development related information, enabling the manufacturer to move away from a manual exchange of technical data. Footwear specialisms, such as the management of data related to shoe lasts, are supported by the system. Time savings, a lower error rate and easy and reliable access to information will all be immediate tangible benefits.
