Inflation affects shoe prices in Namibia
Namibia's annual inflation rate rose July, according to a report from the Central Bureau of Statistics.
The consumer price index (CPI) was up 4.6% year-on-year in July, up from 4.3% growth in the previous month.
As a result, food and non-alcoholic drink prices rose 3.9% in July compared with July 2009, while clothing and footwear prices grew 3%.
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose 1.2% compared with a 0.1% rise in June. Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices climbed 3.9% and clothing and footwear prices rose 3%.
