Jimmy Choo could sell for £500 million
UK-based luxury shoe and accessories brand Jimmy Choo could fetch up to £500 million ($313.4 million) if it is put up for sale.
According to reports, its owners have been looking into potential sales opportunities, although there are also claims the business may be retained in order to float it for £1 billion over the next few years.
The brand currently operates 100 stores across 32 countries. It was established by then accessories editor at Vogue, Tamara Mellon in 1996. Ms Mellon had met the Malaysia-born designer in London and together they opened the first Jimmy shoe store in Knightsbridge. The collection is now available across the world and has won the hearts of a number of celebrities including Julia Roberts, Renee Zellweger and Beyonce.
Ms Mellon, who owns around 18% of the company, stands to gain around £100 million should the sale take place.
