A delegation of ministers from French-speaking countries in Africa has travelled to China’s Fujian province to visit the Jinjiang factory of athletic footwear brand Xtep.

The ministers, representing 23 different countries, went to China principally to attend a trade and investment seminar in Beijing, but visited the shoe factory at the end of the trip.

Xtep representatives said the ministers had been very impressed by and interested in what the footwear brand was doing and that several of them had talked about inviting the company to Africa to set up operations in their countries.
