The organiser of the Micam footwear exhibition in Milan, the Italian National Footwear Industry Association (ANCI), has explained why this autumn’s edition of the event (September 19–22) will begin on a Sunday. ANCI said starting Micam on a Sunday will make it easier for retailers to attend.

Medium and high-end footwear brands will have their spring-summer 2011 collections on show for buyers from around the world.

Around 1,600 exhibitors are due to participate at the September edition, 580 of them from outside Italy.

The layout has been partially modified with a new mapping of the collections. Pavilions 1–3 will house sophisticated women's footwear, with trendy women’s shoes in pavilion 2 and also in pavilion 5. Elegant and luxury footwear for men and women will by in pavilion 4 and young fashion footwear in pavilions 6–10.
